Inspired by Zoidberg’s couch post and my loft bed post on Christmas, I’ve decided it might be neat to have a blog devoted to flat pack furniture. Yes I realize this is crazy, but the stuff fascinates me and a lot of us here love taking pictures of whatever projects we’re doing and posting them. Could just be a home to post before/after pictures of any furniture you buy in a box for those interested. Probably wouldn’t be updated too often, but who knows. Anyway, how does one go about creating such a thing? Is some sort of approval needed for my rediculous idea or do I just need to find the right buttons somewhere? Oh, and yes I am currently in the middle of putting a desk together.

Just filter Oppo by Zoidberg and Immoral Minority and you pretty much have it. ;)

I made one once but this was like 5 major Kinja versions ago so I don’t know if it can still be done the same way. It involved making a second account that would become the subblog. The ownership of that account then gets turned over to your main account and it’s commenting privelages are removed, becoming nothing but a blog. The account you link it to is able to appoint mods and give authorship and stuff.

Group blogs are not possible anymore. The last time it was possible was around 2 1/2 years ago.

I’d like to do the same but for boats. Sailboats in particular.

If that existed between it and Oppo I would get absolutely nothing done ever.

Boo, I was afraid that might be the case. I guess all the ones that are there pre-date it. Thanks!

There is a ski blog but it’s pretty quiet. I think you would be talking to yourself or cross sharing to OPPO all the time.

What if you’re already not getting anything accomplished already? Reading oppo is the frequently the most productive part of my day anymore.

No problem. I think I tried it 1 1/2 years ago just for the hell of it. The process bricked the dummy account I created.

Ugh. Well considering this was gonna be a fringe thing anyway NBD... but it seems like something cool they could bring back. Hopefully for better things than what I had in mind.

It’s a shame, indeed. Somebody from Kinja commented that there’d be no guarantee the process would continue to work and could break at any given update to Kinja. He ended his comment by saying there was no foreseeable plans to have something like this in the future.
